General: (political statement of goals, objectives, views, philosophies)
|
I am on the ballot as nominated by petition. This means I was placed on the ballot by the citizens regardless of political view and as such I will represent everyone in House District 52 instead of a Political Party and its ideology.
My family is a solid middle class family that has faced challenges just like every other family. Laurie and I were first from our respected families to go and graduate from college. So we understand the burden of high college education and student loan debt. I will be vigilant against inflating schools costs and agressive in funding our schools to the level they need while ensuring we as tax payers are getting our money's worth.
My mother, siblings and me faced the disappointment of a VA systems where my father, a Koren War Vet, was denied admission to the VA hospital and subsequently passed away. As such I understand that if we expect government to provide services, it must deliver on its promises otherwise something needs to change.
Basically, I will approach legislation as a voice of reason. I will look at the merits of the legislation and support those that will help Iowa.
